DESCRIPTION

The St. Catherine of Siena Rosary is inspired by one of the Church's most fearless saints—a mystic, peacemaker, Doctor of the Church, and woman whose extraordinary love for Christ gave her the courage to speak truth even to the most powerful figures of her age.

St. Catherine's spirituality was intensely centered upon the suffering and love of Christ. She received the stigmata, experienced profound mystical union with Our Lord, and wrote of Christ Crucified with a startling intimacy and fervor. The design of this rosary draws from that spirituality: antique white wood and deep black obsidian create a stark, almost Dominican palette, while the Crown of Thorns and Nails Crucifix places the Passion of Christ unmistakably at its center.

Handcrafted in the USA with durable 95 paracord and premium Italian sacramentals, the St. Catherine of Siena Rosary is made for daily prayer and built to endure years of faithful use.

The Black and White of the Dominicans

The contrasting black and antique white beads intentionally recall the habit of the Dominican Order. Catherine became a Dominican tertiary as a young woman, joining the Mantellate—the lay women associated with the Order of Preachers—while remaining deeply engaged with the world around her.

The simplicity of black and white also suits Catherine herself. Hers was not a timid faith. She possessed an extraordinary conviction that truth and charity ultimately belong together, calling popes, clergy, political leaders, and ordinary Christians alike toward greater holiness.

The Crown of Thorns and the Crucified Christ

At the heart of this rosary is an Italian-made crucifix surrounded by the Crown of Thorns and marked by the nails of the Passion.

The choice is particularly fitting for Catherine, whose mystical life was profoundly united to the suffering Christ. According to her own spiritual experience, she received the stigmata in 1375, bearing invisibly the wounds of Christ. The crucifix therefore serves as more than an aesthetic centerpiece: it recalls the mystery that stood at the center of Catherine's entire life—the overwhelming, sacrificial love of Christ Crucified.

"Be Who God Meant You to Be"

St. Catherine lived with remarkable urgency. She believed holiness was not something reserved for another time, another place, or another sort of person. God calls each Christian to become fully what He created him or her to be.

This rosary is made as a companion for that same pursuit: for prayer when faith is easy, prayer when courage is required, and prayer when following Christ demands something from us.
