Humility Rosary
“Learn from me; for I am meek and humble of heart.” — Matthew 11:29
The Humility Rosary was designed around one of the most fundamental—and most difficult—virtues of the Christian life. Humility is not thinking poorly of ourselves or denying the gifts God has given us. It is learning to see ourselves truthfully before God: dependent upon His grace, grateful for His gifts, and willing to place His will above our own.
Christ Himself gives us the pattern. The eternal Son entered the world not in earthly splendor, but in poverty and obscurity. He washed the feet of His disciples. He accepted humiliation during His Passion and became obedient even unto death. The Rosary continually brings us back to this mystery: the greatness of God revealed through humility, obedience, and self-giving love.
The design reflects that simplicity. Brown-stained wood Hail Mary beads give the rosary an earthy, unassuming character, calling to mind simplicity, poverty of spirit, and our own mortality. Blue Aventurine gemstone Our Father beads introduce a Marian element throughout the rosary. Our Lady’s humility stands at the heart of her response to God: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word.” Her blue beads serve as a reminder of the woman who sought no greatness for herself, yet whom God exalted because of her complete surrender to Him.
An Italian-made bronze-toned Miraculous Medal centerpiece and Pardon Crucifix complement the warm brown palette, while USA-made brown 95 paracord completes its intentionally understated appearance. There is nothing ostentatious about the Humility Rosary—and that is precisely the point.
Handmade in the Fargo, North Dakota area by local Catholics, the Humility Rosary is built to accompany daily prayer and to serve as a quiet reminder of a prayer every Christian eventually must learn to make:
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.
